General Manager, ELeague and VP of esports, Turner Sports
Find a pocket skill and be able to translate that into how it’s applicable to the gaming industry. Don’t just say “I want to be in the game industry.” Articulate what you want to do in it and how you’ll impact it. Don’t compromise who you are. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other women in the field to mentor you. We are happy to help usher in the next generation of women.
Executive Director, ESA Foundation
As the next generation of game makers emerge I would tell them that they have a great opportunity to follow their passion, to enter a better, more accepting work culture than others before them — it's not perfect, many things in life aren't, but with their contributions, they will make it better.
Look past the hurdles, past the objections, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't.
My inspiration to continue working in gaming… The passion and drive this industry has to become better with oneself. The warm welcome of the community. How everyone supports one another to do better. Makeup is for everyone. I am here to enhance your true beauty, not to stab you in the eye with a makeup brush.
